Cal is 2 months old!

Calen is now 2 months old.  He is such a happy and interactive baby.  We could make him smile at 4 weeks, laugh at 5 weeks, and trying to suck his thumb at 6 weeks.  Since then he has gotten so strong!  When he is sitting he holds himself up, we just have to balance him.  When you are burping him, he stands up against you and then pushes out with his arms.  Cal is very interested in his play gym and his toys on his bouncy seat.  He beats them with his hands while his legs go a hundred miles and hour.
At his 2 month check up he weighed 12lbs 9oz and was 23.5" long.  Which put him in the 52nd percentile for height and 70th for weight.  His food sensitivities have increased and now we are avoiding eggs and gluten on top of dairy.  Calen got his first cold but is hadling it like a trooper!

Jack's Tattoo

Jack had a great tattoo on his arm but we had to take it off before school started back up on Monday.  We had to take a picture since the tattoo couldn't stay on any longer.

Bridal Shower for Liz

Fun times with my cousins

Mom and Dad were watching Jack, Lauren and Charlie while Molly and Jason took a much needed parents only trip.  Since a lot was going on with my Grandma's health, we decided to offer a little help with the kiddos.  Which ended up being just one extra grandkid to wrangle.  It was a lot of fun to see Charlie and Calen so interested in each other.  Jack and Lauren were such a big help entertaining Cal.

Blowing on Calen's face

I know it sounds mean but he thinks it's soooo funny.  This video is not the best at capturing him laughing, he get's a bit camera shy.

The Protector

I was in the office so Maggie didn't leave him unattended.

Our almost 9 year old lab, Maggie, has now become quite protective of Calen.  She is slowly figuring out that he is not going anywhere.  Maggie figured out early that she can get some attention when I am nursing Cal and have a hand free.  She now comes up on the couch anytime we sit down just incase I am handing out scratches!

Four Generations

Last week Dad and I went down to visit Grandma and Grandpa to introduce Calen.  It was a great day.  Calen was in a good mood and was very interactive with his Great Grandparents.  Grandma said "he just wants someone to talk to all day long . . . I'm good at that."  Cal let Grandma feed him his bottle (the kid doesn't care who feeds him just as long as he gets food!), halfway thru she said "doesn't he need to burp or something?"  She hasn't forgotten how to take care of a baby.

Long overdue update . . .

Well it's safe to say I have a better understanding how busy the lives are of families with children.  I had high hopes of updating the blog on a more regular basis, ha!

A lot has happened in a short little time.  Calen is now 8 weeks old and 12 pounds!  He has learned to smile, while awake and without having gas.  He laughs at you and sometimes your bodily functions ;-)  Cal takes after his Mommy and loves to talk . . . his is baby talk.  Calen has also developed acid reflux and dairy sensitivity.  We have him on meds for the reflux which is helping and he is on a non-dairy diet.  Mommy misses ice cream!  His baby acne/eczema has all cleared up and he looks like a brand new little man.

Now for the good stuff . . . pictures!

Calen and his face before we figured out his food and reflux issues.  Poor little guy.
Looks like an old man in his bucket hat.
Melissa and Allie came to visit Calen.
First playdate with Baby Dane, Kim a gal I worked with son.
Blurry but I love this one of my boys!
Love that Adam likes to say "I'm crabby" whenever Cal wears this.

Molly and Lauren threw Calen and me an amazing baby shower!
4 week old photo shoot by Mommy.
 Love it!

 First shower with Daddy.
 Finally using his sunglasses.
